19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former mentor Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship since the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent saved four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
